How to Progress From Your First Stand

A fast start means little if you reach stage two unprepared for a fight. A Bizarre Run progression ties together Stand selection, cash rewards, mount customization, and survival across the race. Build around a Stand you enjoy, then use quests and race rewards to fund your next purchases.

The opening sequence gives you a choice between three Stands before sending you to the lobby. From there, work through these priorities:

  1. Learn your starting Stand. Practice its attacks in Battlegrounds before taking it into race combat.
  2. Check the quest board. Pick goals you can work toward during your next run.
  3. Learn horse movement and stamina management. Stage one gives you a chance to practice racing before stage two adds direct gunfire.
  4. Prepare during the train intermission. Purchase equipment and ammunition for the next stage.
  5. Collect reroll items while racing. Rokakaka Fruits and Stand Arrows let you change your Stand later.
  6. Visit the gyro NPC for Spin. Complete the quest line if you want access to steel balls.

The launch race centers on two stages. Stage one emphasizes movement and environmental sabotage; stage two adds more combat, checkpoints, and NPC hazards.

Change Stands Without Wasting Your Items

A Stand Arrow does not replace a Stand you already have equipped. You need to clear that Stand with a Rokakaka Fruit first.

A Bizarre Run — Change Stands Without Wasting Your Items

Follow this order when changing an occupied slot:

  1. Select the Stand slot you intend to change.
  2. Use a Rokakaka Fruit to remove its current Stand.
  3. Use a Stand Arrow to obtain another Stand.

Use another available slot when you want to keep your current Stand and try something different. Check the selected slot before consuming a Fruit so you do not remove a Stand you meant to keep.

Watch the terrain for Rokakaka Fruits throughout the race. Stage two also contains Stand Arrows, giving you another reason to pay attention to your surroundings between fights.

Avoid spending every reroll item chasing rarity immediately. Learn how your current moves work first, especially before deciding that a different Stand will solve a combat problem.

Earn Cash Through Quests and Race Objectives

The lobby quest board includes daily and weekly challenges. Objectives include finishing a race in the top 10, eliminating other players, and finding a corpse part during a run.

A Bizarre Run — Earn Cash Through Quests and Race Objectives

Read your objectives before entering the race. If you have a placement challenge, focus on completing the course cleanly. If you need eliminations, prepare for stage two and practice your attacks in Battlegrounds first.

Winning is not your only route to rewards. Surviving the race and completing bounties can also earn cash and points. The result screen tracks performance details such as placement, kills, and sabotages.

The early access build also included several ways to expand your inventory:

  • Merchant purchases: Rokakaka Fruits, Stand Arrows, and Spin Tickets.
  • Spin wheel rewards: Cash, Rokakaka Fruits, Stand Arrow Fragments, and a shiny Stand Arrow.
  • Seven-day login rewards: A Zebra Horse on day five and a shiny arrow on day seven.

Collect available login rewards before buying or rerolling simply to add something new to your inventory.

Learn Your Mount Before Spending on Rerolls

Mount customization includes appearance options, saddles, and an identity roll that affects stats. The early access build priced mount stat rerolls at 500 cash and a camel mount at 15,000 cash.

Practice stamina management before repeatedly paying to reroll your mount. Holding Shift makes your horse run faster but consumes stamina, while following behind other horses provides a slipstream boost.

Keep these controls within reach:

ActionKey
Run while on your horseShift
Call your horse after falling offT
Use the one-time boostF
Equip your secondary itemC
Choose your secondary itemHold C
Summon your StandB

Save the one-time boost for a stretch where you can maintain your movement afterward. Avoid spending stamina continuously just because the track ahead looks clear.

Sandman has a different movement rhythm: building speed takes time, but his running and large jumps offer another way to travel. Practice acceleration, jumping, and stamina use before committing to a race with him.

Finish Stage One and Prepare on the Train

Stage one introduces racing through changing terrain while other players interfere with the route. Directly shooting players is restricted during this stage, but environmental destruction still creates danger.

Revolvers can trigger TNT and destroy parts of the course, including bridges. Dynamite can also cause destruction or knock riders off their mounts.

Watch the route ahead when players start attacking nearby structures. Keep enough stamina available to respond to obstacles instead of exhausting it while following the pack.

After finishing a stage, you move to the train intermission. Use that break to purchase secondary equipment and ammunition.

The early access build allowed only one firearm at a time, requiring a choice between a revolver and a shotgun. Check your equipment before heading into stage two, where players can shoot each other directly.

Survive Stage Two and Complete Bounties

Stage two combines a longer course with player combat and checkpoint hazards. At its opening, you can select an easy, medium, or hard bounty. Other players can also receive a bounty on you.

Start with an easy bounty while learning how race combat works. Practice your basic attacks, Stand moves, and weapon use in Battlegrounds so you can execute them during a moving encounter.

The stage includes several distinct threats:

  • The first checkpoint: Hold your ground until the fog arrives.
  • The Boom Boom family: These enemies target nearby players, making movement important.
  • The town checkpoint: Progress depends on reaching a player-death requirement before the border opens.
  • The river area: Explosions create another hazard while you travel through it.

In the early access build, the town barrier required 15 deaths, followed by a short cooldown. Watch the checkpoint requirement rather than expecting to ride straight through.

Keep looking for collectible items between encounters, but check nearby players before stopping. Reaching a useful pickup means little if you lose the fight immediately afterward.

Unlock Spin Through the Gyro Quest Line

Talk to the gyro NPC in the lobby and complete his quest line to unlock Spin. This gives you two steel balls for combat and secondary-item use.

Steel balls replace your revolver, so account for that equipment change before starting another race. Finish the quest line when you want to explore that combat option, then practice using it before relying on it during stage two.

Learn the steel balls alongside your Stand attacks. The race gives you both movement and combat problems to solve, and your equipment choices determine which tools you have available when another player closes in.
