Keyboard Controls at a Glance

A fall doesn’t have to leave you chasing your horse. The A Bizarre Run controls include a horse call, a one-time boost, and separate commands for equipping and choosing secondary items. Learn those inputs before racing, then get familiar with the combat commands that change how some keys work.

These are the keyboard inputs for movement, equipment, and mounted actions:

KeyActionContext
W, A, S, DMoveOn foot or mounted
SpaceJumpOn foot or mounted
Left ShiftMake your horse run fasterMounted
NMount or dismountHorse interaction
QHang from your horseMounted
TCall your horseRecovering your mount after falling off
FActivate a one-time boostHorse racing
CEquip your secondary itemEquipment
Hold CChoose a secondary itemEquipment selection
BBring out your StandStand use

Remember the difference between pressing C and holding C: a press equips your secondary item, while holding the key lets you choose one.

Horse Controls: Sprinting, Boosting, and Recovery

A Bizarre Run — Horse Controls: Sprinting, Boosting, and Recovery

Left Shift increases your mount’s speed and consumes stamina. Watch the stamina bar instead of keeping the sprint command active throughout the race. Use slipstreaming behind other horses to help close the distance, and time your faster movement around opportunities to pass.

F activates your one-time racing boost. Save it for a stretch where you can take advantage of the extra speed, rather than spending it immediately before a difficult obstacle.

N gets you on or off your horse. Q lets you hang from it, an action used for jumping other players and initiating fights. Keep those two commands straight: dismounting and hanging serve different purposes during a crowded race.

If another racer knocks you off, press T to call your horse back. Make that recovery command a priority to memorize; the race includes hazards and player sabotage that can separate you from your mount.

Choosing and Using Secondary Items

Secondary equipment gives you ways to interfere with the race beyond simply riding faster. Press C to pull out your equipped item, or hold C to choose your secondary item.

A Bizarre Run — Choosing and Using Secondary Items

The race’s stage rules affect what you can do with that equipment:

  • Stage one: You cannot shoot other players. Revolvers can trigger environmental destruction, including shooting TNT to cause explosions and falling boulders. Dynamite can also knock racers off their horses.
  • Stage two: Players can shoot opponents with equipment such as revolvers and shotguns. Lassos can capture other players.

Pay attention to the terrain when choosing where to use equipment. A destructible route or bridge creates a different opportunity from a direct encounter with another racer.

Between stages, the train gives you a chance to purchase secondary items for the next leg. Use that break to prepare your equipment before returning to the course.

Stand and Combat Controls

Press B to bring out your Stand. In Battlegrounds and lobby combat, several keys have different jobs from their mounted racing actions.

KeyCombat or lobby action
Left Mouse ButtonBasic attacks, commonly called M1s
Number keys 1–4Use skills
CUse a combat skill
QDash
FBlock
REmpower move
Left CtrlShift lock
NContext-sensitive interaction

Q and F are the key changes to remember: Q hangs from your horse while mounted and dashes in combat; F handles the racing boost and blocking in their respective contexts. C also appears among combat skill inputs, alongside its equipment functions.

Practice basic attacks and abilities in Battlegrounds before relying on them during a race. Build your attack strings around M1s, then work skills into those strings. Use blocking and dashing deliberately as you learn your Stand’s moves, and keep the mounted commands separate in your memory so a fight doesn’t leave you reaching for the wrong input.
